Our aim was to develop a real alternative to teak. We achieved this in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Plastics Technology in Darmstadt. The result is a 100% recyclable plastic that looks and feels almost indistinguishable from real teak - but has key advantages:
HLF gives you a form-fitting, watertight deck flooring. HLF is not made from welded planks but is a seamless one-piece mat from the outset, so potential weak points simply do not exist. The HLF installation system comprises two variants: in addition to conventional installation with pre-applied adhesive, HLF is also available in the self-adhesive “Peel and Stick” version. In both cases, there is no need to weight down the deck flooring.

HLF is not only a genuine alternative to teak, it also differs completely from other plastic deck flooring in both its production and the way it is installed. This makes life much easier for boatyards, refitters and boat owners alike.

CUSTOM DECK FLOORING
Whatever class of boat you are passionate about – HLF fits every boat. HLF also offers the unique opportunity to implement your design ideas exactly. Anything is possible! Every HLF deck can be produced exactly the way you want it. All we need is a digital file of the motif, image or lettering of your choice. Using digital data processing, the stave widths and their layout can also be adapted individually to the shape of your boat and the conditions on deck.

After a long search for a deck flooring for our motorboat, I came across HLF-Marine online. I was taken with the description and the look. A visit to the Rettich company then convinced me completely. Mr Rettich showed me how the flooring is made: very high precision in handling the templates and layouts, in production on the CNC milling machine and then perfect craftsmanship. You can tell that the boss and his staff are passionate about their product. Even the installation was flawless!

I was looking for a new deck for my steel displacement boat because my teak deck had got on in years (50) and unfortunately was no longer watertight! We looked around and compared material, performance, price and workmanship! Alongside genuine wooden teak, HLF made our shortlist, as it can easily keep up with wood in terms of durability! Installing the flooring was really straightforward.
It took me 2.5 days including the joints. Apart from the look, which people constantly ask me about because it simply looks good, I am also completely satisfied with the feel. Good preparation is essential. We spent a morning preparing and sanding the surfaces. That was a bit tedious. Thanks to the “Peel and Stick” method, applying the HLF-Marine deck flooring was surprisingly quick and easy. We worked in pairs, as advised, and were done in no time. It looks fantastic. Everything fits perfectly. The flooring completely transforms our boat. The feel is great too, and even in the high temperatures last weekend it was very comfortable to walk on.
